I probably can't run a buy for this, but I want to see some interest.
So who here is interested in a cherry made hall effect that is useable with modern computers? I don't know any more details, but apparently there's a 10 MOQ at $250 a board.

uh, you don't even really know if that exists.
I think Cherry corp also makes keyboards with Hall Effect switches, though there is a minimum order queue of I think 10. There is a guy on reddit channel that is looking for interests on group buy with the Cherry made Hall Effect keyboard. It was priced somewhere around USD$200-USD$300 but don't quote me on it.

+1
Never seen it, don't believe it.

Yeah it might be a better idea for someone to speak to Cherry and see if the beast exists before we get our hopes up.

One guy saying I think and one reply on reddit doesnt mean Cherry made hall effect switches or keyboards. Rumors =/= actuality.
dorkvader, resident Hall Effect expert, says he's never heard of it yet.
...I also heard Unicomp has been working on an capcitive buckling spring SSK

I'm not perfect. There's a lot I have yet to learn, especially with news and current events. Still I haven't heard anything about this yet. It'd be awesome if true.

edit: according to ZeDestructor at reddit, it was at the CeBit Australia "showfloor". Anyone know anything else?
Like that hall-effect keyboard they don't sell retail (that I couldn't steal off the CeBIT.au showfloor)...r

What ****** thought that was going to happen?

Cherry does make hall effect SENSORS... but I can't find any mention of any that even remotely resemble anything that looks like it would work as a keyboard switch. Though if there is such a thing, and it used MX mount keycaps and was USB... I might really consider swallowing that price for it... also assuming the layout wasn't something wacky. No 230 key nuclear control center battleships!

Depending on the implementation, I'd buy one for sure.
Of course: there's only one type of Keycap that can go on that: spherical.

No, it's about badger milk.
