When I was looking at the ducky shine 3 yellow edition (white switches), I couldn't find any good resources on how those switches sound and felt. I decided to just buy the board and hope for the best. However, since I've been reading that mx white switches might become trendier with some time I decided to make a quick video to show people how they sound.
I have a Razer Blackwidow ultimate(for sale btw), which I'm comparing the ducky to in the first video.
Second video is just me pressing a bit lighter than before.
Overall white switches feel significantly heavier than blues. White switches are also quieter, and more solid feeling then the blue switches.
So yea, that's that, I hope you guys can put this to use when deciding to purchase your next mech board.

No problem, I've grown in love with the mech board community, and as a mech engineer, I have a great appreciation for how everything works on the mechanical and material level. It would be cool to get my hands on some gear so that I can review them for the community. I was also thinking of making a video with every type of board switch available today so that people can better understand the differences, but that's gonna take a while for me to source everything(perhaps people could let me borrow some stuff). Anyhow, I'm at the communities service :thumb:

It's all preference. I like the feeling of heavy switches, and so do many others. (although we might be the minority)

I like white switches, and I bought the same keyboard when I saw them become available. However... that yellow just hurts my eyes. Not to mention that I can't see the text when backlit, or in dim light, and it's almost invisible in a well lit office. I know, I should be aspiring to that otaku blank goodness, but this is really not the board for me to learn on. :-\
Love the switches, hate the keycaps. If they weren't so well-made (I think these are the thickest engraved keycaps I own...) I'd have binned the whole lot already.

Thanks for the videos, Whites are quite rare and there aren't enough videos of them.

Not to poop on your review and/or your experiences, but I think the more "solid" feel of the white switches may be more due to the keycaps being PBT, than the actual switches being more solid... unless you accounted for that, of course, when you say they feel more solid.
Because that was my immediate impression when I switched from my ABS caps, to PBT caps on my Filco with MX Browns. The whole keyboard immediately felt different, and "more solid", but I know it's cause of my keycaps.
