What's the thickest ABS keycap that you know of? I need some to make some caps. Is GMK the thickest or are there others?
-
I think SA profile from SP is pretty thick, not sure how it compares to GMK/Cherry
-
I have examples of both here and GMK is a little thicker. I hope that helps. It is also important to consider that they are really different profiles.
-
For novelty caps, are they usually in a profile similar to Cherry or SP or do most cap makers have their own profile?

god dammit I just realized this was a pacifist thread, forgot to ignore your new account.

Pac Caps = Pacifist?

Pac Caps = Pacifist?
That's what I'm wondering.

So this may be another kid's affair.

As kmiller8 mentioned, SP SA is the thickness ABS (as far as I know).
Perhaps because it has dual-layer.

Whoa, awesome comparison! I love my GMK..

On a Cherry MX switch, you can not get much thicker than GMK or original Cherry Corp/GMBH. keys or the keycap will not fit on the switch.
Many older keyboards with very thick keycaps also have longer stems, so that the keycap does not go over the switch housing the fully depressed like with Cherry MX.
-
If you see the original post, it does not mention cherry stems.

He mentions GMK so its safe to assume he means cherry MX caps.

Actually although he mentions GKS, he does not say why he wants to know. Whether the intention is to purchase a set of these keycaps for use on a particular keyboard, to buy a set to melt down (getting maximum plastic for money), to use as a basis for some keyboard science, or other (please specify).
