First of all I would like to know if this LED that has 2-2.2V would work or would it burn it?
And second are there any good guides on how to install them?
Third can I do it without desoldering (or whatever you call that)

Think the backlit version is now available. But to answer your questions:
1) First of all I would like to know if this LED that has 2-2.2V would work or would it burn it?
2) And second are there any good guides on how to install them?
3) Third can I do it without desoldering (or whatever you call that)
1) Should be fine
2) You can see my builds where I've used LEDs on my KMAC (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=47093.0) and Orbweaver (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=48771.0). It's fairly easy if you're just adding LEDs though.
3) You will need to solder.

I actually just ordered an LED Poker II yesterday. Although doing it yourself would give the satisfaction of a custom board.

I know I will have to solder but the holes are already filled in with solder is there any way I could put the LED's in without removing that solder? And of course I will need to solder them in after that. :)

Here's a good guide : http://imgur.com/a/Y2Yyn
Unfortunately you'll need to desolder that small amount of solder that's already in the holes.. I tried braid when I was doing the mod for someone else and it doesn't work. I also tried just melting the solder and putting in the LEDs.. It's extremely tricky, but maybe you could make it work. I think it's much easier to just desolder them and then install the LEDs though.

Thank you so much... I know how to desolder but I was just wondering if there was a quicker way... Thanks again :thumb:

Sorry to revive this thread, I'm thinking to modify my Poker II to backlit version soon so I want to double check on this.
From this guide the person has sanded off the base of the led since he mentioned it might bump into keycaps. Does anyone know if this step is necessary?
Come to think about it I should've just bought a rimless led to begin with =______=

Yes Hyde, it doesn't fit properly otherwise. The lip causes an odd fit into the case. You can also just get 2x3x4mm LEDs.

I have not had issues with interference but I have only added one LED and that was a 3mm round with a dome to and a rim on the bottom. The only cap that has been on it is the fairly thin wall titanium cap that is my profile pic. It does not have issues with SP's double shots either. I have not heard of anyone having issues with 2x3x4 mm LEDs yet even with GMK thick double shots or Fengs thick PBT.

Sigh I wish I knew about this before I bought my LED. I've bought this already: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/100pcs-3mm-Round-Diffused-Blue-LED-5K-MCD-Bulb-Lamp-Light-/121003952323?pt=US_Car_Lighting&hash=item1c2c65c8c3
I guess I can either sand down those or buy this instead: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/50pcs-3mm-Blue-Flat-Top-Diffused-Blue-LED-Light-Lamp-Leds-/251284900952?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a81bf4c58&_uhb=1
Though I wouldn't know what to do with all the excess LEDs. >____>
*first world problem*
