Hello,
Anybody know how to enter the tilde character in HHKB Pro2?
Thanks in advance,
Ooops .. never mind I just saw it on the far right hand corner of the kb.
Sorry.

i was gonna say... not much of a hacking keyboard if my homedir doesn't get a dedicated button...
-
I think all modern keyboards have a tilde key, its just not always where I expect it to be : )
-
That's what I was thinking and was expecting at the left hand side and was looking at the keyboard from all angles because it didn't make any sense. Was I glad when I found it! HHKB Pro 2 is a very nice keyboard.

The HHKB uses a Solaris keyboard layout, which places the tilde/backtick key in the top right of the keyboard.
You get used to it fast...

I was looking at a sunfire v240 server and it has USB ports can I simply hook up the HHKB to it? Also, how do one hook up a monitor the old days we used to have Dec VT terminals with the display and the kb in one unit.

the 240 has a cisco style console connection and no built-in video, however if you grab a pci-based mac video card it should work. The hhkb plugged into it should also work but it wouldn't do much good without the monitor.

looks like it's got a regular db-9 on there too. Just hook up a null modem cable in between there and your pc and run hyperterminal or putty

It sounds like a good starting solution would be use the null modem cable and connect through a pc and use the hhkb as you suggested.
Thanks.
