Seller describes the board as old and heavy, could this possibly have mechanical switches or is it just another crappy dome board I should pass over?

That seller works with a lot of good quality keyboards. If that Dell had anything interesting under the keycaps, he would surely pop it open and put 10 photos of the internals, together with a detailed description :)
