I personally love it and is probably one of my favorite shows, and had what I think was one of the best series finales of any show, but lots of my friends seem to think otherwise. Thoughts?
-
Absolutely love it
My favorite cartoon :D

^:)
...been a fan since the 90's. Same with Family Guy...back when everyone hated it. It's funny how things change sometimes.
Edit: both shows have been cancelled more than once because they were so unpopular.

I think it is a pretty terrible show

Double, LOL.
-
It never really won me over, but I definitely can watch it without having to rip my eyeballs out.
For cartoons I prefer Family Guy, The Simpsons and South Park over Futurama. I don't watch any of those at the moment, though, but those three are my go-to cartoon series in case I'm in the mood. :))
-
I can't bring myself to watch the last season, too sad, but I do love it.

it's either that... or no new futurama-at-all...
life's not all good.

Good news everybody, you're all going to die horribly painful deaths! The bad news is Bender got the Slurm machine pregnant, so there won't be anymore Slurm.
-
Alright... No one say it.
That bloody Dog episode
-
It's alright, not sure why people love it so much though.
-
best ****ing cartoon ever.
watched the first 4 seasons on 1.5x+ speed in one night. it was glorious.
-
I watch it on Netflix with my two year old sometimes, he calls it the Bender show. I'm waiting for him to tell the wife to bite his shiny metal ass. ROFL - sometimes I get tired of Yo Gabba Gabba or PBS kids shows.
-
I prefer Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park. But nice to watch, I think I saw most episodes.
-
Absolutely love it. So many science and pop culture references and intelligent humour.
-
I went on a Futurama kick at one point. But as soon as the whole Fry/Leela romance thing started in what seems like every eppisode, I stopped.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
We can start a new forum without YoungMichael88, the hater, with hookers and blackjack :P
I love Futurama. Seriously love it.
-
Tried to get into it--didn't grab me. Matt Groening

I submitted a planet express logo to kmillers dyesub r2 not too long ago, you guys should join so we hit the MOQ :)
I originally submitted a B&W logo but now think it should have color. Not sure if he will switch it or if people would prefer it with color or not though :/

Whacky space stuff, amirite?

In fact, forget the forum and the blackjack... ahhh, screw the whole thing...

Futurama...?
You mean that show they made a bunch of memes out of, right?
-
I got Comedy Central on cable a month ago and have been taking a dose of Futurama every day since.
The first time I saw it was in '99. A friend's girlfriend had downloaded a bunch of episodes in low resolution and filled a CD* with them that we watched all night.
( *: yeah, it was the '90s.. computers weren't even fast enough to play standard-def video back then, and DVD-burners were rare).
-
I'd rather watch adventure time or regular show.
-
yea the fry + leela thing is really bad arc...
cuz honestly the whole thing was created around Future Scifi... romance was never part of that future, it just can't exist...
They have too many perfect replacement of vices for ANYONE man or woman to bother having a real relationship with each other..
-

Agreed :p

Well the sexual tension between Zap and Leela was funny. And Kif and Amy's thing was fine. But Fry?! The whole point is that Fry is NEVER supposed to get with Leela. Unless it's an accident or something that leads to us laughing at Fry.
-
I love that show. I love how it maintains positive humor amid all the social criticism. The story plots are also usually imaginative enough to always give enough variety and get boring.
-
Alright... No one say it.
That bloody Dog episode
this was the only eps i really liked and remembered. i only watched it b/c it was (either before or after) the simpsons, and you only watched the simpsons cuz that's the only show to watch at the time.

The zap/leela, kif/amy relations were comedies..
the leela / fry thing, they try to make it "serious"... which is where it all breaks apart..
I don't think people in that universe would behave like that given all their options.

It's mostly fine, but it gets a bit mawkish sometimes, although it's less guilty of it than The Simpsons. I prefer my comedy cynical and mean-spirited like Family Guy.

Family guy feels like they try too hard to be a joke-filled show. In many ways, I feel that Futurama is more sophisticated about its jokes, instead of just piling up a dozen obvious gags per scene. There are some brilliant moments in FG, but personally I don't like it as much as other cartoon-shows (like Archer).

Archer is great.. cuz it makes no sense..
futurama might've seemed kind smart when we were all younger watching it..
But if you start watching it "today" or while ur older... most of it isn't as novel.
-
I feel a bit weird after seeing too many in a row of Archer or shows with a similar kind of humour, such as Brickleberry.
-
THE MOST AMAZING SHOW EVER!
-
Depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
-
What do I think of Futurama?
Well, for the first three years of college I watched the entire series all the way through during finals week every semester. So...I guess you could say I'm a fan.
-
I like it, I rank it about the same as The Simpsons, slightly above maybe. Haven't seen the newest season(s) tho.
Much more of a South Park guy, but at any rate Futurama is miles more tolerable than Family Guy.

Yeah being from the UK and not following celebrity news or anything like that most of Family Guys jokes are lost on me and I still think its funniest moments are when the jokes are simply within the context of the show, but I do prefer it to Futurama... I also think becasue The Simpsons has to be aired at a certain time to a certain audience its writing is alot smarter than Futurama's..

newest season not worth watching... if you just want to cherish your good "old" memories of futurama..
The new season is... just not as good because we're probably too old to appreciate it.

Buhh.. Rick+ Morty..
I think if RM can Continue its freshness, it could potentially rival Futurama.
-
Futurama holds a special place because it was on so many times while I was out at a party, or waking up in the middle of the night to adult swim on Cartoon Network, or hundreds of other occasions.
I enjoy it's geeky/silly brand of simpsons like slapstick and pun laughs.
Rick and Morty is a different form of enjoyment and I dig it for it's crudeness, and it's harshness mixed in with lots of surprisingly well pulled off fantastical elements.
Different enjoyments, both are great to me.

^^^ This, both great shows but Futurama resonates on so many levels, I mean, Bender, c'mon! John DiMaggio and Mel Blanc are my two voice-acting heroes!
"Shut up baby, I know it!"

Weirdly enough, I really enjoy Rick and Morty but I just don't find it funny. Like the stories and characters are always interesting but I just don't laugh much.

The first 6 seasons of The Simpsons is tops for me. Timeless.
Well not so much s01, but 2-6 are fantastic.
