Gonna have this for 55 euro + shipping :

- IBM Model M clicky 1391402 100% functionnal
- IBM looking like M but dome 100% functionnal (still high-end domes)
- IBM model M shell
- Set of model M keycaps (azerty)
- model M electronic card
- 1 model m spare cable

For the shell, sorry, I have the same goal, want to make a camouflage (Desert) on it with brush paint and epoxy crystal protection :)

the dome M uses many of the same parts as the normal model M. You can even convert it without too much trouble.

The case, controller, plate, membranes are all the same. I think the barrel frame is as well. So if you bolt mod, you can replace the dome sheet with hammers and replace the keycaps with spares from an M. Or use it as parts.

or just type on it, plate mounted domes aren't that bad, imo.

i would use the dome board as parts myself rather than build it to mech standard.

He is not a noob, a Doctor, but I already sold him a good WYSE kb for 15 euro, and he is a geek doctor, and the best psy I've ever met, I'm a catholic, he is jewish, but we have many common points and he helps me a lot :)

My teenage son and I made these two a couple of years ago. It was a fun experiment, but not completely successful.

but I will do something more "army" less saturation, and using the real french ground forces camouflage used in desert operations (I'm an ex-Officicer) ^^

My Bull Micral kb is also a work in progress, dark green paint with an epoxy layer on it, mate finish and I'll probably ad the french aircraft 'logo' which is very close to the british one :

I use a very strong paint, but even that and clear is not strong enough when you use a keyboard and your hands touches the bottom of it, epoxy resin is IMO the strongest way to have it tough. Clears are not strong enough...

also I'm an artist and love to paint with brushes, not spray... when I was a teenager I did a lot of aircraft mockups (Heller, Airfix... etc) and painting these planes was the best part of the 'job' ^^
