Title: Homing bump keys
Post by: bishboria on Mon, 10 February 2014, 02:38:11
Hi folks,

I've got the ergodox with DCS keycaps, and I love it. The only problem is that there are no homing bumps on any of the keys and I want to know where my fingers are resting without looking at the keyboard.

Does anyone know where I can buy these homing bump keys?

Cheers,
bishboria

Excellent, I might just get those thanks!

Any idea where I could also get a PBT version?

Stop! WASD's keys are not the same height as the DCS keys.

You can sometimes buy singles from Signature Plastics that are leftovers from other orders.
See here (http://keycapsdirect.com/key-capsinventory.php). Right now, there are white DCS keys with homing bumps available. No black, though.

Thanks!

According to http://keycapsdirect.com/inventorypdfs/DCSPBTInventory.pdf it looks like I could get a few blue row 2 keys with homing bumps. Might be quite nice against the other black keys.

EDIT: Actually, it's row 3 keys I need! :)

I've been wondering if simply drilling a small hole in the surface of the cap would give enough feedback to locate them... anyone tried that?
