Pretty expensive Korean custom right here. I wanted to discuss this board without derailing the lightsaver thread, so here we are! From what I can tell, this is still "coming soon" since nothing is available for buying yet and the acrylic parts which are sold separately have yet to be listed. What do you guys think? Worth the $470+? As a man obsessed with aesthetics and LED's...I find myself considering it lol.

Man that single picture is at a terrible angle...
Edit: Lastpilot edited the OP to show some better pictures :D. It's ok. It looks like a Kingsaver (color-wise) but MX and has the same lighting setup as the Lightsaver.
-
the sightsaver does'nt have a top and bottom case, just the bottom tub. The "saver" (I think that's what it's called) is the lightsaver but with a top as well. This is the TKL version of that, but also with a clear polymer strip around the outside for lighting purposes.
Looks great, but I wonder why it's so much more than the lightsaver.

I'm very curious about this as well. My best guess is the amount of chamfered edges resulting in more machine time?
-
It must be the fact that it has an entire other case. Two big machined pieces = expensive. I bet the "saver" would have been similarly priced as well.
-
That looks amazing. I love the light strip around the case.
edit: I accidentally a word.
-
Yeah, it'll be more expensive since it's not a tray design (single cnc piece + laser cut plate) like the lightsaver, it's a 3-piece design (top piece + bottom piece cnc + laser cut plate). More costly to produce.

You and me both :thumb: . This is quite a nice looking piece of carved aluminum. As long as it tips in at over 2kgs then this is the new baby to get.
Let us know if anyone will run a Group Buy on this one, because I definitely want one with Grey MX's installed.
-
I did not actually expect you guys to join me in justifying the asking price. Lol....and....I've started budgeting lol.

Elton said in the Butterfly Keypad GB thread that someone would be running an Orion buy on GeekHack. Here's hoping for an Alps plate like the Butterfly didn't get.
-
oh man that silver top and red bottom is NICE
-
does duck do 75%?
a heavy as **** led bling 75% board would be awesome
-
It's pretty... but it would need to be 75% cheaper for me.
-
Damn, kinda makes me wish I could've hopped in on the butterfly GB for a matching set.
-
Took a stab in the dark and found it on taobao. :O Actually looks like other korean customs are showing up as well.

Is there a reason they don't use 1.25 mods?

If you look closely at the PCB (http://www.kbd4u.com/product/detail.html?product_no=30&cate_no=39&display_group=1)it actually supports the ANSI 1.25 setup. And AFAIK Duck plates always support the normal 1.25 mod layout, so it would be a surprise if they didn't here. Worst case scenario is a PCB mount setup.

The group buy in local start 1 month ago. :'(

Where can I find more information about the GB? When is the next GB?

This looks awesome. No way I'm going to be able to drop $500 at once, but I sure wish I could :thumb:
