Title: Model M to USB Cable--SOLD
Post by: aref on Sat, 15 February 2014, 17:58:07
This is a cable that works with Model M full-size and SSK keyboards. The cable also works with
Model M AT keyboards that terminate in an AT connector.

Cable length is 6 feet. I paid $38; I'll sell for $28 including USPS Priority shipping. PayPal, if you please; ConUs sales only.

Cable is sold.

Why don't you like it? I was thinking of getting one actually.

If that is one of Orihalcon's cables I highly recommend it.

They are very expensive, but he had to buy a large lot of parts and he builds them himself, so it is not so bad.

I have 2 and they work great.

I'm just curious why he's selling it.

Bought more cables than  needed and decided it was time to clean house.
I also had several SSK and full-size Model M KBs; I sold off many of my IBMs
and gave one to a family member, save one SSK, which I'll keep. I do have a
stash of Model M key caps that I'll have to list; and some have unique legends
along with the key-caps' standard legends.

My preferred keyboard, subject to change over time, is a Realforce 87UB/55-gram
with white/gray key caps from an 87UW (recently sold with all black key caps). I
quite like the feel of Topre 55-gram key switches; and I like the look of my 87UBW.

Former keyboards: Filco/CMQFR/ Leopold/ all TKL with either Cherry MX Red/Brown/Blue/Black/Green switches;  Realforce 87U/45-gram.

I'm like you. Bought all the keyboard with different key switches to try to determine my ideal switch.
Have you tried clear yet? So far I have tried BS/black alps/peerless, mx green/blue/clear/brown/red/black, 45g/55g and have a variable type-s in the mail.

Realforce's build quality is excellent. However I still go back to my QFR brown (my first TKL after discovering this forum) because it debounces faster. The 55g is slightly better than 45g but still not as fast as cherry.

My next step would be to acquire a lubed ergo-clear in aluminium case. So far the $60 QFR gives the BEST bang of the bucks.
