Found this on ebay today "PanaVise 324 Electronic Vise Work Center & Soldering Station BRAND NEW IN BOX!" (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131109214382&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160)

Not a bad price for a new unit. It's even $20 less then Amazon's price. I'd end up taking off the extra accessories on the base and adding an 18" crossbar.

Oh it's got that really sick Panavise head that holds PCBs....and a little solder iron holder and solder spool holder. That's pretty cool.

Radioshack had these for ~$27 at Christmas, I'm still regretting not getting one.

Radioshack has some pretty great deals sometimes. Amazon had the 18" crossbars for 5.99 with free shipping via Prime. It looks like I picked up the last one this morning.

They also have a 30" cross bar for 9.99. But I imagine that's one beefy sized board. Terminal layout anyone?

Nice. I could see several applications where that wire holder would come in handy. Were you going to just fasten the base to a board or your workbench? I'm not sure how well the 312 tray base mount holds the vice, so we'll see when it arrives.

I've got a huge desk that one day will be my 'work area' and I would just bolt it to the desk.
