Title: RF 87u variable layout
Post by: tbc on Tue, 18 February 2014, 00:03:06
just a quick question.

as far as I understand, the variable 87u has 45g switches on its mods.  Since you hit mods with your pinky (barring funny typers), shouldn't those mods be the LIGHTEST keys on the board instead (for the weakest fingers)?

personally, my pinkies feel decently strong and 45g isn't a big deal (it's even fine for greens); purely thinking about this 'academically'

I had the same thought when looking at the graph on elitekeyboards.com. I know when looking at keycaps people make a distinction between the normal letter keys and the modifiers. That doesn't make sense ergonomically though.
