http://www.ebay.com/usr/iamlzq (http://www.ebay.com/sch/iamlzq/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=)
I see industrial SSK, NIB SSK, two industrial M13's two "normal" industrials. The list goes on
Australia had better not complain about the IBM kb's that show up on ebay today!
Pretty awesome!
-
It's laggy-gaga
-
Err "Shipping: AU $101.75" Sounds great..
Edit: seems that shipping may only be that high for some of the items and I just happened to check out that one. Haha.
-
 a new M15
-
I want that Industrial SSK :0
-
Bad move to sell everything at once if you want to max out the bids.
Perhaps he needed the money.
That IBM SSK cost him 450EUR if i remember correctly. That was from webwit.
-
Me wants the M15 and M13 :'( but its in Australia......

Wrong. http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/industrial-space-saving-keyboard-ultra-rare-t653.html

At the prices these things go for, a few tens of dollars of additional shipping is a drop in the bucket.

The ultimate bad move may be selling the three M15's as a group with no reserve.
Hope it goes well.

I have cried to sellers for years about listing multiple similar items with ending times close together.
Unless your buyers are particularly well-heeled and might actually want multiple copies of something, they are likely to place a bid on only one, and not take a chance on winning more than they wanted or could afford.
I would recommend several hours, minimum, between closing times so that losing bidders could have time to re-group and move to "Plan B"
-
Wow...
I bet everyone goes nuts over the industrial SSK and the M15s go do cheap. Why no one gets that the M15 is way, way, way better than any SSK I'll never understand...

M15 is based on m which many people prefer less to the "normal" model M.
I notice there's no model F here. My theory is the seller got a model F and decided he was "done" with all that membrane nonsense. (It's a theory, anyway)

that would be someone else.
Mine is harvested from taobao
-
I still have NIB soft-touch, NIB M2, NIB 1390120, NIB MODEL F, NIB M5 kit, some very rare custom model m.
but I ran out time to take pics of them. so they will be round 2.
I bought them nearly 3 years ago, so even them might go low but still much more than when I paid for.
anyway, My main collection is cherry.
those model m are just bonus from ebay hunting.
-
Laggy, if any of us here win an auction would you be willing to mark the item as a gift with a lower value than we paid when you ship it in order for us to avoid customs fees?
Also, will you be listing any of the black-label industrial 101s that you posted photos of in your original sale thread on ebay?
-
yes I will.
in Australia we dont pay tax for items less than $1000 for online shopping (if the policy remains).
so I am willing to declare what ever amount you guys want.
and I got three black lable Industrial 101, one is reserved. but I find out the other two have scratches on edge.
https://plus.google.com/photos/110784470631709882696/albums/5979805862394115649
I prefer not to sell them for $150,
maybe I will get one to Elrick
then sell the other for cheap.
btw, I may have 2-3 ssk for sale.
all in mint condition.
-
If you decide you want to sell those black-label industrials on GH instead of on ebay let me know, as I'd love to get one! I had PMed you about it before but didn't get a response.
Also, good to know about the shipping.
-
Great collection you have there.
-
yeah id love to get one of the ssks but i dont use ebay at all anymore
if you decide to sell 1 privately please pm me
-
I'd love a full size M industrial, but there's no way I'd want to pay what they go for these days. I hope you get a great price for all of it, and that the buyers will use and enjoy them, instead of just hoarding.

I use the ones I paid for. although that may change when my F finally gets in (as far as I can make out, this is my "one board to rule them all").... Do want an Industrial SSK for mobile use though...
-
A few of the keyboards have finished now - there are some happy (if slightly poorer) Model M owners now.
One of the industrial SSK has reached $800
-
Does anybody have links to the ended auctions?
-
Does anybody have links to the ended auctions?
Only the SSK:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NIB-IBM-MODEL-M-SpaceSaver-Keyboard-white-label-/281269484757?pt=AU_Input_Peripherals&hash=item417cf7bcd5

-
Is that really New IN box? $217 seems decent for brand new SSK.
LOL the industrial difference.. One is at 400 the other 800..

So NIB SSK is now $200? To think used ones went for $400 recently

Its missing a cable but they are quite common, but for the collector its not that good of a deal
-
It's good Laggy is getting some decent moolah for his collection, which can only occur on Ebay. I can understand moving away from the BS simply because there are better keyboards out there to own :thumb: .
I hope he gets all the amount he's looking for on his whole collection.
-
All I can say is that M15 trio is going to fetch a lot
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-MODEL-M-M15-the-triangle-/281269532305?pt=AU_Input_Peripherals&hash=item417cf87691&autorefresh=true
almost 1.5k
-
That AB label just jumped up a bit. Ouch. Guess I won't be getting that industrial 101 I wanted.
-
M15 triangle at 2K

tonight it is high stakes night : >

e**e really wants it

e***g ( 3 ) vs e***e ( 1730 ) . 3-0 so far. and now it is time for the m15
-
One of the industrial SSK's is at 1k too now.
-
oops, wanted to edit...
-
m15 guess? 3.5k
-
well, it was 3k. not bad. 4-0 for e***g
-
The problem is the e***g has only 3 feedbacks in the pass 3 years...
-
I'm pretty surprised at how high the silver label indy 101 sold for considering that massive mark at the top left
-
The problem is the e***g has only 3 feedbacks in the pass 3 years...
Well, good luck at any rate; here's hoping all your transactions complete with little hassle.
-

well if e**g turns out to be a troll e**e with the 1.7k feedback should be legit
-

I am pretty sure e***e will take them all since he lost pretty much all the rarities tonight ;)
-
Let us see what will happen.
a local member picked up NIB model F and some good stuff.
I might put some custom Model M 101 as a bundle.
and also one NIB SoftTouch,
Which I consider rarer than M15
-
Soft Touch? Isn't that just the rubber dome version? I have at least one of those lying around somewhere, never knew they were rare...
-
no,
It is buckling spring,
check out

I'm pretty sure it was only for one M15?
The first photo is only on the thumbnail, and not on the same desk as the other photos, and the description does not say the listing is for three. He calls the keyboard a "triangle" - he doesn't say there are three.

Nope, it was for all three + a numpad
1x IBM
1x Options
1x Lexmark

Read the listing again a few times and now I see. Not how I would have described or titled it if selling myself.

Ah yes, I confused Soft Touch with Quiet Touch. The names are the wrong way round :-p

You getting Aussies buying these? Or overseas buyers?
Also, if you happen to have a spare SSK (used is fine, as long as it has all its keycaps) that you'd let go to Melbourne for, say, under $150 all up, let me know :D
-

I don't blame him for selling his gear to overseas people because you Rowdy help to emphasis how cheap we aussie-scumbags really are. First off, asking for an SSK to be GIVEN away for $150 is a crime really. When you know full well how much they fetch on Ebay. He offered to sell me an Industrial, but I have no use for IBM's anymore so I refused to rip-him off (also I refuse to re-sell it like most dubious idiots would do).
He needs the money and Ebay is his best bet. Never rob someone of his gear because he suddenly has the need to get rid of it, because scalping someone off here is obscene and not nice. If you don't want to buy his SSK for at least $250.00 then next best thing, someone on Ebay will give him at least $400.
He has spent so much of his own money gathering so many IBM keyboards that he needs to recover on the losses he made.
-
I think that's unfair, Elrick. When Laggy first posted he was going to sell them for $75 each, and a bunch of people told him that he should be charging more, even to forum members. Even after researching what they go for, he chose to sell them for $150. I believe he's sold quite a few of them for this price already. If I remember correctly, Laggy bought these when they were much cheaper, and many of them were steals from Taobao. I believe he's making his money back and then some, while still giving people an opportunity to grab one of these for a reasonable price. Rowdy isn't taking advantage of anyone.
-
Looks like some of the buyers fell through?
The AB fullsize industrial is up again: http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-MODEL-M-Industrial-keyboard-AB-Label-/281274418849
As well as a few M's. List: http://www.ebay.com/sch/iamlzq/m.html

My ebay shows e***e (1731) as the winner for the AB auction. The guy with 3 feedbacks lost by $5.

I wasn't aware of the full back story. If he needs the money, then fair enough.
Doesn't hurt to ask. And I wasn't asking for a NIB industrial SSK, just a used white one :p

As well as a few M's. List: http://www.ebay.com/sch/iamlzq/m.html (http://www.ebay.com/sch/iamlzq/m.html)
Laggy needs to put into his sale details no bids accepted from anyone with less than 20 successful buys in their feedback. A lot of tyre-kickers play that game of making up a false account and start bidding on everything. Of course they have absolutely no money and no inclination to pay for anything but they love playing the 'rich-man' on ebay, pretending to buy a lot of gear.
All they do is just close their old account and start another one, beginning the whole process again just for their own perverted amusement. If I was Laggy have faith because for every useless tyre-kicker their are lots of serious bidders. They will in the end get Laggy's IBM's, he just needs to be patient with the whole selling process when it comes to dealing with Ebay.

20 seems a bit high. Maybe 10. But not really going to matter, even good buyers have to start somewhere.
Looking at the completed ones that were relisted, two had a top bidder with 1700+ feedback, and one was the guy with 3 feedback, so the 20+ approach wouldn't have made much difference.
-
Given the prices that industrial SSKs have been fetching, this one was a relative bargain:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281269536499
-
Hello E TwentyNine. I am the one with the 3 feedback, but yea I have already paid for the SSK Laggy offered to me when that someone with 1700+ feedback ask to retract from the boards he won. Laggy was a flexible seller and initially agreed to sell me at the price before e***e started to drove the price high and at the same time offered me SSK. I chose SSK as the final decision ;D

Laggy's SSK's are all high quality because the man himself seldom spent cash on junk or trashed keyboards. That is why if you want near-new keyboards get it off him or otherwise trawl through ebay and buy junk-piles for $150USD and spend a lot of time cleaning and restoring.

That industrial SSK went quickly at $1000
Nice way to do it - someone with the cash gets what they want straight away! :)
-
Nice way to do it - someone with the cash gets what they want straight away!
And the seller gets his cash. That is one of the biggest reasons that I almost always use Buy-It-Now, if I have set the price properly I can often see the money within 24 hours or less.
Also, contrary to ebay's advice, when I am buying, I think that I am prone to pay more for a Buy-It-Now "sure thing" than I would risk in an auction.

I've only been doing the eBay keyboard thing for a few months now, but so far all of my experience is in line with yours. Set a BIN or starting bid that I'd be comfortable selling for, or auction sniper if I'm buying. I've had no headaches from this.
-
I've had no headaches from this.
It is hard to avoid the occasional regret.
Twice in the past month I have had a keyboard sell an hour after I listed it, which is a clear indication that I had priced it too low!
And, on the other side, I have looked at a BIN, thought about it for an hour, and missed it.
You just have to let them go.
-

Do you ever do "reverse auctions"? Setting a high BIN, waiting some amount of time, then relisting with a lower BIN, repeat? If so, how long do you tend to wait before determining that your current price is too high?
-
Do you ever do "reverse auctions"? Setting a high BIN, waiting some amount of time, then relisting with a lower BIN, repeat?
That is exactly what I do.
I wait 3-7 days and drop 10%-20%, as a general rule, depending on the circumstances.
Most things sell quickly once they hit the acceptable price point.

Awesome, my gut said about 3-4 days.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
