Title: How much does it cost for a custom pcb?
Post by: clickclack123 on Wed, 26 February 2014, 21:24:56
Just thought that before I go through the process of learning how to design a pcb in KiCad, I'd ask here:

I'm just looking for a ballpark figure for how much it would be to get a TKL/compact sized pcb made, either single or double sided??

I haven't been able to find a price from anywhere yet as I don't have the design finished (or even started!) to send off for a quote.

If it's too much, I will just direct-wire my design for now as I'll probably want a plate later anyway.

Also, where would people recommend I get it made? Cheap is good, I'm not in too much of a hurry, pretty used to waiting for 3 weeks for stuff from China.

OSHPark
pcbwing
seeedstudio

(many others too, I'm sure)

You might budget $5 per square inch from OSHPark as a good ballpark for a one-off.

Thanks, I just found the DIY Resources Thread (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=33298.msg626387#msg626387) which has a fair bit of info.

Just emailed sitopway (recommended in the DIY thread) and tingriver on ebay to ask them for prices as well.
