Title: What kind of Wrist Rest is the best?
Post by: Pacifist on Sun, 02 March 2014, 19:35:26
What kind of rest is the best? Hard, soft, or inbetween? And for each kind, what brand do you prefer?

For soft, is grifiti good? http://www.amazon.com/Grifiti-Standard-Keyboards-Mechanical-Materials/dp/B004D8PYE2/

For in between, is the ducky one at massdrop good?

For hard, is wood the only choice or are there others?

If it's too soft your hands just sink. The Grifiti is firm, but still has a little cushion. I find the depth of the Grifiti a little too deep. With the Grifiti you can cut it pretty easily and not have a problem if you end up in the same boat as me.

I wouldn't want a solid piece of wood/plastic, but I'd prefer that over something on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Good to know. Grifiti is pretty much dirt cheap at $14 shipped while ducky is $33 shipped, and it seems like the grifiti is good enough quality to suit my needs

Got it today

it's too tall, going to have to cut it down later

also its bent a little on the inside so theres a "bubble" but just like my mousepads they should be gone after a bit

Mine was bent too. It was a general flex upwards so that only the edges touched the table when I wasn't resting my hands on it. I thought it was a good height, just too deep. Do you use a normal height keyboard or is it a shorty?

I can honestly tell you to skip the Ducky if you're going to try something else -- the bottom has absolutely no ability to prevent the rest from sliding around.
