Title: Banggood or bad?
Post by: morpheus on Mon, 03 March 2014, 09:11:55
Hi guys,

Have any of you guys bought keyboards or otherwise from Banggood?
Have any of you been scammed from them?
Please let me know if it's worth throwing my money at them.

Thanks.

I bought a PBT set and a POM set from Banggood. They are definitely not scammers, but shipping takes quite some time if you choose the free shipping method. :)

This has been pretty similar to my experience with them. I bought a set of PBT caps from them and it took almost 4 weeks for them to arrive using the free shipping option. Their pricing on some stuff is hard to beat so I would definitely consider ordering from them again.

I bought the white PBT. Spacebar was very warped, but overall it was a pretty good deal. Just long shipping times.

I've bought blank white PBT, some MKC metal caps, and a few other non-keyboard items. With free shipping, it did take quite some time, but everything arrived. Also, with my MKC caps, before shipping, they noted the stamp of MKC on the inside of the cap was "upside-down," refunded my money and sent the caps anyway.

I've been eyeing their keyboard roofs, but unfortunately they only fit standard TKLs.  Neither of my 2 custom keyboards will work with them because of the USB socket location and overall length :(  Considering the fake leather black TKL wrist rest though.

http://www.banggood.com/PU-Skin-Wrist-Support-For-87-Mechanical-Keyboard-p-86960.html

and the full-sized one:

http://www.banggood.com/PU-Skin-Wrist-Support-For-104-Mechanical-Keyboard-p-86953.html

My main concern with those fake leather types is the coating, which may not be that healthy to rub palms on in the long run.

stay away! Banggood are scammers. I bought a product, they ask me cancel the purchase and refund the money, but they sent me the item. Ask me to resend their offices and they will pay the post expenses. After that, they refused pay me any money. They used me to transporte their products with my money to their offices. They are reported to the police in three countries. They are SCAMMERS

They're okay.

They sometimes allow you to order parts which are not actually in stock and the free shipping option takes a very long time. I ordered 2 sets of keycaps (87 key blank PBT and POM), was informed a few days later that they were not in stock and asked if I wanted a refund or to change the order. I changed the sets to 84 key sets and they then sent them. Took 6 weeks to arrive.

So, not the smoothest online purchasing experience, but the product was worth the price and since the shipping was free I can't complain about the time taken.

Next time I order from them I will choose paid shipping, though.

They have an excellent reputation on newegg also.

Bought Poker II from them. Not the fastest free shipping, but, again, not mush slower than in other Chinese online shops. And the prices are decent.

Like most here I have ordered and received though it did take several weeks. One set of PBT (still unused but it was cheap) and one numpad. Shipped from different places and hardly any updates but after a month or two both had arrived.

Same experience, and their tracked shipping was quite cheap. Took about 3 weeks from China to Houston.

I have ordered about 6 orders from them. I got some keycaps and other random stuff.

As others have said, it takes 4-6 weeks to arrive.

The other thing to be aware of is that they will sell products that they do not have in stock, so if their sourcing does not come through then they may randomly cancel your order. They may not tell you they canceled it till you contact them.

I have had a couple issues with them, but they have always made it right.
1. I ordered 10 pocket recorders to donate to a charity. Apparently they were returned to sender by customs, so after 2 months and I had not received them I emailed them. They resent the items and I got them in 3 weeks.
2. I bought a Kester Flux pen from them and about 1/4 of it leaked in transit. They offered to replace it for free or give me a refund. I took the refund and got to keep the partial pen.
3. I have had orders split up because they really did not have what they sold me in stock. I have gotten everything I have ordered, but some stuff has been pretty delayed.

Don't buy anything from them that you want in a hurry. Expect a 2 month wait and you won't be disappointed.

Just ordered some stuff from them the other day, so this thread was making me a bit nervous. Overall though, most people seem to have gotten their stuff, even though it took a while. Am expecting a Poker II from them in the next couple of weeks -- will report back with what happens -- hope there are no issues as I'm really excited for it ;D

how are the pbt keycaps from banggood, I was about to buy a set but I heard they fit really tight onto the switches so taking them off is a pain

The quality is ok. It's not on the same level as something like imsto, but better than stock caps for sure. The rgb set is a pretty good value, but they are often sold out of them (even if they show in stock). They are pad printed or etched are your only options. No dye subs.

Even on cherry clears I didn't think mine were overly tight. They are definitely more snug fitting than the OEM ABS Filco caps but not enough to cause any issues using a wire cap puller.

Ya, they are tight, but not prohibitively...

As I got more used to pulling them on and off (primarily my number row to mess with novelty keys), they don't feel as tight anymore even though I know they're still about the same tightness. I think some DSA keycaps I got from my crap bag are tighter.

Although now my stock keycaps all feel really loose and easy to take off.

Ya, PBT tend to get looser over time anyway...  I just rock the cap back and forth a very little bit and they come right off...

banggood is the only vendor currently banned on GH, for gross, blatant and continuous violation of the vendor terms of service.

They're fine. Didn't notice anything tight and they're on my Clears.

The PBT caps are fine. Good quality (especially for the price), medium thickness and they aren't too tight on the stems.

It's the POM caps that are really tight on the stems. You can loosen them up by cycling them a few times on and off a loose switch before putting them on your board, though. It's not a problem then.

It's probably in the mail. I got impatient at the 5 weeks mark, but my stuff arrived the next week. I'd email them to ask when the items shipped and then give it another week before filing.

It's worth paying for shipping....

This is pretty normal. If 8 weeks pass and you don't get anything, then start to worry. I would contact them before you open a pp dispute. Also check your tracking number to see when it left China.
