Title: Poker II (Replace built in mini usb port)
Post by: j0hnny on Tue, 04 March 2014, 11:20:22
My poker ii usb port is not responding, and it's a bit wobbly. The port is fine, it's just i think desoldered from the PCB (but I could possibly be wrong). Any guides how to inspect what the damage is/how to fix it?

Could you post some photos of the connector? It would help a lot! :thumb:

The USB port looks fine, but it's a bit wobbly and I'm not quite sure what is wrong/what needs to be replaced. Do you think you need a picture of the USB slot and the PCB?

I've replaced the port on my poker 2 as I bashed it with the cable in when it wasn't in a case and it got all bent out of shape :)

you need an smd socket which looks like

i soldered mine with lot paste and hot air I don't know how easy it would be with an iron

If you look on the bottom of the pc - you should be able to check those 5 joints and make sure they are all still making good contact as that could be where your problem is.

Okay, do you think there are any guides on how to replace/solder the usb component? Search function on the forums are quite difficult to use
