The ongoing rate right now for an SSK is about $250 to $300 on ebay.  How is "reasonable" defined?

This! The prices are steadily going down since some of the 1k+ industrial ssks on ebay

I think a nice SSK is well worth $200.   Especially here on GH where that barely buys a set of thin SP keycaps LOL.   

To the OP, be patient and selective.   Plenty of nice SSKs out there.   Get one in NICE condition.   Not a crappy beater board.
