Title: [WTB] Spacebar stab wire, name your price.
Post by: dorkvader on Fri, 07 March 2014, 21:34:00
I need a spacebar stabilizer wire, cherry 6.25x, straight.
This is to complete my lightsaver keyboard.

I can't use the ones that come on a cherry KB because they are bent and wont fit under the plate.

I'm over a barrel, so please feel free to name your price. I cant even start soldering / testing this until I get it (if they reversed the stabilizer like on the phantom I could at least put it in after I'm done.)

Since I'm pretty desperate, I can offer some nice things in trade (like entire keyboards, bags of vintage blacks, etc.) Don't be afraid to try your luck.

not so sure what do you mean by straight, but does this one work for you?

Yes, like that.

The cherry ones come with two more bends in it to get around the spacebar keyswitch (or soemthing?) and won't fit under my plate.

PMed. Out of curiosity, have you tried flipping it over? I was looking at the wire on one of my cherry KBs the other day, and I was wondering if this would work with a plate.

You can't flip it over or the "bend" will hit the PCB.

Fortunately for me, I was able to fabricate one out of a WYSE stabilizer that had age-hardened enough to deform my lindstrom cutters!

Thanks all!

I have what appears to be a 6x and a 7x.  If either of those worked, it would be all yours no cost.
