Title: [WTB] Case for A.87 PS2AVR
Post by: GeorgeK on Sat, 08 March 2014, 04:12:12
Morning all - I have an A.87 PCB coming my way but I have nothing to put it in!  As such I'm in need of (in order of preference)

The bottom half of a Filco / QFR TKL keyboard case (I have a couple of case tops courtesy of mkawa but no spare bottom halves)

or alternatively

An entire TKL keyboard case for an A.87 PS2AVR, preferably in orange, white or at a push black.

Does anyone have anything going spare?

Cheers

I don't think the A87 will fit in a Filco/QFR case, as it doesn't have holes for the plate standoffs. These usually go through the PCB and touch the plate. The plate then screws onto them.

You'd need a custom case designed for the A87, like the ones GON sells.

Hmmm - hadn't thought about that...  Might well be that I need a proper case for it then...  I didn't but the QFR tops for that reason at least (I bought them for my Filcos)

In that case does anyone have a case they want to sell that does fit the A.87?

Cheers bud

You can maybe ask around on the Korean forums if anyone has the files for the acrylic cases and have someone cut you something, for the most part a case will be quite hard to find. I know the LZ series all fit them, but they don't fit in standard cases as the F-row is slightly further distance then filco/qfr cases. There are some really nice acrylic pieces out there, maybe if you ask GON if he can help source one.

I am beginning to think that may be the case (pun not intended) - I imagine that all suitable cases probably already have boards in them :)

Does the PCB fit in a KMAC (sorry for the rando question)?

Not sure tbh - I'd need to look into that more...
