Title: [WTS] Steam Keys - $1 or $5 to donate to Geek Hack
Post by: Vibex on Sun, 16 March 2014, 15:05:19
No one was buying any games for geekhack, so I decided to donate them all to SGDQ (Summer Games Done Quick). Its a speed run marathon that helps raise money for various causes.

Woo! I reached 60 posts! :p
Over the past year or so I've bought a ton of humble bundles. But I don't really like using steam unless I have to, so I have gotten a ton of steam keys. Before anyone says I only bought these for profit, I would like to explain how I buy humble bundles. I always pay almost full price for games I don't already own. Almost full price means 5% - 10% off max. I like to support indie game devs, I don't feel like stealing their money.
I'm to lazy to research the prices for all the games, so every game (unless stated otherwise) is $1. If you want to help support geekhack, and don't like me making a profit, then you can pay $5 for a game, and all the money will go to geekhack. Also unless stated otherwise all games are Steam games. Blue Title's are games I recommend. All of the steam keys have not been redeemed or even generated yet, so their is absolutely no chance of them not working. If you contact me saying it didn't work then either you are lying or someone perfectly timed a fake keygen with a real keygen and somehow beat you to redeeming it. And that is very very unlikely.

I dont mean to be rude or disrupt your post..

But the humble keys are mostly sold to raise money for charity .. reselling keys that you may have bought for 1p/1cent seems highly immoral :S

Like I said up top. I payed for these games (full price for most). I just figured since I was never going to use them I might as well do something with them.

Why not do a giveaway or something then. Unless your happy to prove you payed fairly..
Again sorry but I cant stand people profiting of things that were ment for a good cause. (not saying your doing this more it happens)

I have given a ton away. I have donated them during events like AGDQ by giving them out in irc chat. I've also given them away to some of my friends and just randomly posted a bunch on sites like 4chan. I don't really know how I would prove that I payed fairly for these games.

Yeah, I've seen those types of sites before, but I really like the geek hack community so I wanted to offer stuff up here first. :D

I lowered the price to $1 a game that way people wouldn't think I was only in it for the money. ;D

EDIT: All of this gave me a good idea. It will be $1 a game if you want to buy it from me, but if you pay $5 for the game all the money goes to Geekhack. How does that sound?
