what's the difference between the g80-1800 and g81-1800? what kind of switches do these have?

im looking for a compact mechanical keyboard that allows up to 4 or more keys to be pressed at once (anti-ghosting for gaming?).

i was also looking at the matias tactile pro but it's REALLY expensive; anyone know a cheaper place to get one?

I believe the G80s have MX switches and the G81s have (edit: what lowpoly said).

The Cherrys you look at here won't do that.

The G81 is mechanical actuator on membrane.

The G80-3000 fails QWAS (which means it only has 2 key rollover) according to posts in the NKRO thread, so I wouldn't count on getting at least 4.

cherry is out then.

can anyone suggest a good (possibly cheap) mechanical keyboard that can support up to at least 4 keypresses? ive heard good and bad things about the steelseries 7g (quite expensive)

i looked at the abs M1 on newegg and read some of the reviews... most of them say it has serious ghosting issues that cant even support 2 keypresses... anyone else have experiences?

Filco boards are quite reasonably priced now that we have a real US distributor for them.  Take a look at the FKBN104 or 87 at elitekeyboards.

omg thanks kyamei... me and my friends have been trying to look for filcos.... do u know if it TRULY supports 4 or more keypresses with the n-key rollover

Take a look through the n-key rollover sticky, people have been getting at least the advertised 6-key rollover on Filcos.  I don't really think Filcos are all that expensive when you compare them to other "gaming" keyboards like the G19 (even G15's are pretty pricey).  

As for Filco vs. Steelseries, I'm going to guess that most people here will vote for the Filco.  Not many people around here are fond of Cherry black switches.

well i just did some searches on filco and this will probably be the one i'll get (not anytime soon)

still deciding between the tenkeyless or the standard one... not sure if numpad is very useful for anything anyways.  and the tenkeyless can sit more centered to the monitor which is ergonomically good for my hands right (less prone to carpal tunnel)?
