Title: Hello from Indiana!
Post by: interwebhobo on Tue, 18 March 2014, 13:45:03
Thought I would drop by and say hi! I've been lurking for a while, as I've been following /r/MechanicalKeyboards for a couple of months and there's a lot of linking here. I figured it was time I joined up here! I've had the pleasure of owning a Das Keyboard Professional (browns) as well as getting my hands on a Filco Majestouch 2 Yellow (browns). Sold the Das (poor grad student) and kept my Filco.

I truly discovered mechanical keyboards last fall. I've always known about them but I never really knew, y'know? Got roped into a Das by an alluring deal and loved it. However, the Filco limited edition with Yellows truly caught my eye and I had to have it. I ended up contacting Diatec and they had one sitting around with browns (I really like browns lol) so I bought it! Relevant: http://imgur.com/a/mVeiC#0

And now I am officially hooked!

Now a little about myself... I am currently a first year Master's student studying Consumer Behavior. I'll probably stop at my Master's and go into industry because being poor sucks. I love computers and I would say they are my hobby. I enjoy everything about them, from the innards (building my own systems) to the peripherals. I am really looking forward to having a job so I can spend as much as I would really like to...

Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Welcome to GeekHack! If you're not too shy, maybe you can drop by the Indy meetup (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=43245.0). Always fun to meet keyboard enthusiasts. And I also really like Filcos :D.

Haha yes, as if my hobbies needed to become any more expensive, right?

I might be able to make it, but I doubt it. I've got so many presentations to prepare for/papers due/books to read at the end of March/beginning of April it's rather sad.

You said hobbies? Be prepared to put any other aside, as this one will be the only reamining.
