Title: My Aluminum GH60 Case
Post by: Muffet on Wed, 19 March 2014, 11:10:23: This my GH60 case that I designed, programmed and machined at my university CNC lab.

It has a sandblasted finish with machined surfaces on the inside. I do not know the weight of it.

It is far from perfect, but I am very pleased and wanted to show it off a bit.

I only have access to it because I am currently taking a CNC Programing course. When I said I programmed this myself, I literally mean I manually programed this part without using a cam software.

This case cost me only the stock, which was $45 (the original stock was much larger than it needed to be.)
My university has at least three 3d printers (I think there might be four, but I am not sure.) The Engineering Department has one which costs only the material to use, however they rarely ever use it. About the only things ever printed using it are the professors own projects.
The Human Centered Design art program has a 3d printer that students are basically given free reign to use after being instructed how. They originally charged people to use it, but no one ever wanted to pay for it, so now it is free of charge.

If I had a poker 2 I would certainly do so. ;)

I will of course post more pictures when the GH60 PCB's finally ship out and I can assemble it.
