Title: A.87 ps2avr - no keymap - help :)
Post by: margo baggins on Thu, 20 March 2014, 15:21:10
Hello,

Long story short, I broke the atmega that came with my A87, I have quite a few spare empty controller, I have put one on the board - I can flash it with isp programmer and have put one of the v1.6 firmwares on it - which is fine, shows up in device manager as a keyboard, but there is no keymap on it. I have hex files for the standard keymap, but I don't get at which point I am supposed to flash this on the device - I tried flashing the firmware, and then flashing the keymap by putting the -D switch in avrdude to stop it doing an erase cycle, and it didn't like that much.

What am I missing, can anyone shed any light?

Ive been reading there is a bootloader now too but the download appears to be dead and I can't seem to find "main.hex" anywhere, and I think if I could flash the bootloader everything else should be easier!

EDIT: Ive just pinched a flash of the otehr pcb I have here, so that will solve it for now.

bump

there are loads of these boards in the wild - surely, somehow has flashed theirs beyond stock firmware and can give some pointers as to how that was done ?

Well, I know and can flash it, but I then don't know how to get a map on there.

thanks :)
