What makes the Leading Edge DC-3014 collectible?
I saw one go for $600+ on Ebay a few months ago, and others for a fraction of that.
Is there something unique about this model?

Dude, it's the Leading Edge! Duh. Don't you want to be on the Leading Edge???
Just kidding. :) Who knows? There are a lot of people who pay crazy prices for stuff out there.
BTW, welcome to GeekHack! :)

You're not the first to be surprised at that keyboard's prices. There has been another discussion about it here: Who's this dealer's dealer? (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=1084) ;)
Looks like that specific model has blue Alps sliders and is quite rare.

That is my favorite name for a thread. My best before that was "Hot" question for keyboard swingers ... (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=70)
"Show thread 70" lol

I'm not going to bump an old thread, but Linux actually does have support for hotswapping PS/2.

I do it on windows all the time. But this thread has nothing to do with that?

I was replying to xsphat. BTW, try to do it on a box that hasn't had a PS/2 board plugged into it on boot. Won't work if it's Windows, will if it's Linux.

You're right probably. Never tested on a box that didn't have a PS/2 board plugged in upon boot.
