Title: Where can I get a PBT 4.5x spacebar?
Post by: berserkfan on Sat, 22 March 2014, 22:02:49: I have a JIS layout Filco Majestouch 2, and want a PBT spacebar for that.

I've rarely seen SP offer one in their inventory. The latest is a color I definitely do not want - brown.

Occasionally there are group buys but these involve whole sets and spacebars are ABS anyway.

Is there a supplier or an obscure group buy?

Would prefer to get a white, off-white, cream or yellow PBT spacebar. Light colors are good because I can dye them if I want. Anyway my Filco's spacebar is black.

Um... not gonna buy a Pure Pro just for the spacebar. That's worse than spending $500 on a brobot or whatever keycap that is at least collectible.

Yes, brown ABS. IE it looks like and lasts as long as... s***.

I appreciate your good intentions BlueBaer, but I'm not paying $50 for a single spacebar. That is not a practical solution, to get an entire set that does not even fit my designated keyboard (which is not a KBT) for just one space bar.

(That's roughly how much it would cost to buy an entire KBT Pure PBT set from them, plus proxy and shipping fees.)

Still you have inspired me. Tomorrow I'll try contacting the seller. He might have some sets broken up.

Just think of it as a very expensive spacebar ;)
Maybe you who have those keyboards with small spacebars should organize a GB now that SP is starting to do PBT spacebars.

If you want to run a GB for PBT 4.5u space bars I may be in for a black, dark gray, light gray and white. You should know that SP has a mold for that size, and the same mold that is used for ABS can be used for PBT. It is SA though.

Can't do a group buy for SP stuff; I'm not located CONUS and the logistics will be so much more troublesome.

But if it is a question of negotiating with a Taobao seller for like, 10 spacebars and sending some to the US for 3-4 people, that's doable.

I do, TYVM. Since you seem to know your chinese -- the selection buttons seem to be labeled only "Poker 2" or "Pure". Does the latter include the extra Pro caps ?

I don't know actually, but I guess so. Maybe Imsto or Qtan can help you out.

I used pure pro for searching and you might be surprised of the items I got, everything but spacebars.

I also have an old Pure Pro laying around. the 4.5U spacebar and most of the 1U modifiers made it impossible for me to populate the board with a custom keyset so far.
I just found the XDA-Milestone (https://www.keyclack.com/product-category/group-buys/xda-milestone/) GB from keyclack. this set has an optional 4.5U spacebar and all the 1Us needed for the Pure-Pro.
