Need your Model M controller.
The controller in M died out. Some keys no longer work  :'(

The M I have is a silver label 1391401 from 1988

Wow, I've never heard of that happening before. You may be able to order a new replacement from Unicomp at pckeyboard.com. Worth creating a support ticket with them for sure

If only some keys have stopped working I would have to doubt the controller died.

Have you tested the keyboard with another controller?

Kaiserreich, I think it's a rivet popping problem. When your kb has lost too many rivets, some keys no longer register because they don't hit the membrane. Why don't you open the back and take a look?

I don't have a spare controller for that layout anymore, what a pity. Gave it away. And shipping from me would have cost you only a few bucks, too!

I will check and get back to you guys.

This was the Best M that I got. Only 2 popped Rivets.

I don't have any spare controllers for the 101 M. The other M i have is a SSK.

You can swap controllers between the M and the SSK, same connectors for the membranes.

(not permanently as the M controller doesn't have the embedded numpad trick, but for testing purposes)
