Title: Greetings from NJ, USA!
Post by: Lurch on Tue, 25 March 2014, 11:27:39
Hey GH crew.

Name is Lurch; from New Jersey, USA. Been lurking GH for a little bit. I figured I would finally register to weigh in on some of these discussions, and to use the message board as an outlet from time to time, cause not everyone I see on the day to day wants to discuss keyboards. :-[

Also figured registering would help me hunt down a Topre 103UB 55g. ;D

I currently own: (in order from favorite to least)

Unicomp Ultra Classic [Buckling Spring]
Leopold FC500RC/ABN w/ white side-printed keys [Cherry Blue]
Leopold FC200RT/AWN [Cherry Brown]

I definitely prefer the louder, more tactile boards. I've tried some Cherry reds, but only briefly; would like to try reds vs. blacks first hand at some point.

The Unicomp is a latest addition, and might be my favorite so far, but I have not tried gaming on it yet. The click/thunk is very satisfying. It is also rather loud once you get going on it, which is great for my work environment (I'm a Network Admin/Helpdesk Monkey). ;)

Unicomp is the daily driver at work, cherry blues daily driver at home.

Very interested in a Topre board; thinking I want to try a 55g.

I do a good blend of gaming and extended typing.

Anyway, that's that for now!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to chatting with some of you in the future!

Feel free to ask any questions!

Welcome, sir! You're off to a greats start; you'll be one of us (a.k.a. broke) in no time at all.

I'm also a buckling spring fan. I much prefer my Model M to my Unicomp, but what I'm truly excited about is an AT Model F. Capacitive BS > BS over membrane, from what I hear.

Blue Alps currently own my heart though on the clicky front...

Anywho, welcome and enjoy your time here :).

riotonthebay, do you even 6019284 or SSK??

And Lurch, I read way too fast and thought you listed Unicomp at the bottom of your list. Good thing I reread the OP :P  Welcome to Geekhack. We're sorry about your wallet.

I might have one of those, but it's a secret...

Cheers bredrin! Thanks for the words. I would love to try a model M. I've seen enough reports of people coming across them for very cheap, so I'll (try to) be patient. :))

I have not quite done my research on ALPS yet; will investigate!

May you stay around long enough to lose allot of money on multiple failed group buys.

Jk. They are rare enough.
