Hey guys! I have a Keycool 84, and am having a bit of trouble getting custom keycaps due to the odd key sizing.
Here's what I mean:

I think all the keycaps are standard size for alphanumeric/functions, but I am having some trouble with the modifiers. What size do I need to find for the R-Shift? What about Enter, Backspace, and \ | ?
If anyone has any experience getting a full set of custom keycaps for this keyboard, help would be greatly appreciated!

actually, on the keycool, the r-shift is the only thing that's non-standard (it's a 1.75). everything else is standard.

r alt, r fn, r ctrl are all 1x instead of 1.25x like they usually are. these are fixable if you're willing to look.
pgup, pgdn, and end will be the wrong height. theses really aren't fixable
or just go blanks and save your time ;)

i guess what i meant to say is that the r-shift is the only one you'll have difficulty finding keycaps for. wasd will sell printed keycaps for everything except the r-shift. SP will sell everything, but not printed.

r shift is extremely easy too find tho. Any tsang stocks em, plus a lot of RGB sets include 1.75x shifts. A lot of 1800 layout based POS systems also have 1.75x shifts

Thanks a ton! How do I know what the heights are supposed to be? And where can I get unprinted ones in the right size? What's the height issue with pg up/down/etcs?
Thanks again! I'm new to keycaps and just trying to figure it all out!

the pg and end keys are on different rows compared to how they are on a normal keyboard.
each row is a different height. except that the number row and f row are the same height. same with the space and z row.

interesting, i'm not familiar. is tsang a proxy or something?

tsang is a compatibility kit named after tsang
its designed for the g80-18xx and general korean custom boards. main fetures are 1.5x mods, 7x spacebar, and 1.75x shift. it does also come with some 1x pieces so its perfect for the kc

Get a Granite set :thumb: .

unless granite has a set specially designed for the KC84's variation of the 75% layout, its not advantageous over any other set

Granite has the proper size right shift, and it has DSA profile, so the caps height is the same for any row, thus its caps will fit the odd distribution of the six pack keys in the KC84. So it is fair to say that Granite fits this board properly. It also has 1u modifiers key required for KC84.

common, mods, and pro mods will be required
so many caps are wasted in that setup. A simple tkl+tsang will still have extras but have less left over
if you're going for exactly all the caps you need just get a blank set from sp

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies! I'm still trying to wrap my head around some of the stuff here as I'm not familiar with all the terms.
Is SP a storefront that sells blank keys? If so, what are they? Didn't see anything on the keycap site list.
Also, what is tsang, and how do I look into it/potentially get it?
And, what is Granite? Is it a particular set of keys?
From what I gather, all my rows would be the same except PG UP/DWN/End. Can I just get blanks for these in the proper row height? Would everything else conform to regular row heights?
Sorry if it's a lot of questions! Just trying to figure out what keys will be best and what my options are. Also, could I do a blank 1.75x shift?

if you got blanks, you would just use the keys from the numpad from the correct rows.

there's this and there should be a white version somewhere around there too
