We broke 74 users just a moment ago.
Most users ever online was 74, 19 Minutes Ago at 20:07
-
Whats going on?
Someone is playing?
Most users ever online was 495, 3 Minutes Ago at 21:10.
-
Looking at the IP's, it looks like mostly DSL and cable address space (from a variety of countries/regions). Only a small portion of the current users appear to be search engine crawlers.
Perhaps we got linked somewhere popular today??

I guess we won't be breaking our record again anytime soon unless whatever caused that spike happens again.

That should be in your apache log, if you log the referrer. If not, that's a zombie net harvesting your site :D
You assume I'm running Apache (which I'm not). ;)
If it is a zombie net, those must all be new zombies coming online...as I block connections from IP's with poor reputation (based on TrustedSource).
(looks like most of them are being referred from "stumbleupon.com")

So what are you running as a web server?

StumbleUpon is legit... although I can't find Geekhack anywhere in StumbleUpon.

I'm so used to configuring and dealing with apache I just use it by default hah, is light httpd pretty nice?
-
Cool, I like lighttpd.

I've used lighty for several years. Primarily for performance reasons...if I don't need apache-specific functionally, I always default to using lighttpd.

I didn't notice, but I hope that most of it, at least, is legit. I've never used StumbleUpon, but it appears it is possible that it could drive a lot of traffic.

I have noticed many more people on average on the site than ever before. Sometimes, I will check out the stats in the afternoon, and it's not uncommon to see 50 or so people on. I have never been on 'board since infancy like this before, so I think it's pretty cool to watch it grow.

Yeah, I just wish more people would post. :D

Baby steps, FKSSR, baby steps. :)

The counter has been reset, probably because of the forum upgrade.
