As some of you may or may not know, I have a KC 84 that I love. It currently has a white backlight and I would like to change it to red. I realise there was a Massdrop a while ago for LED covers but ehy didn't have red, only orange.
If anyone could give me any direction as to getting covers or some other type of non-modification way of doing it, that would be great. Otherwise I will just turn to my friend Margo Baggins and get him to do it for me :)

If it has round top led you could get some of these led lens covers (http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-3mm-Bulb-Color-Rubber-Covers-Light-Lens-Caps-Lamp-LED-Sleeves-T1-T-1-condoms-/271443338238). Though, for as much as they cost you can get a bag of red led for less like these nice rectangle ones (http://www.ebay.com/itm/100pcs-2x3x4mm-Rectangle-Red-Water-Clear-LED-Light-Leds-/221138055543?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337cdaf177). I got some of those red led from this seller and they are a nice color. Keep in mind though, if replacing white with red the resistor value should be changed too.

Yeah, this is what I thought. They did seem a bit overpriced for some little plastic covers. Thank you. I do have round LEDs, so would square ones fit?
Margo is pretty slick. I'm sure if I asked him to swap them out he would know exactly what he was doing :)

Either keyboard covers or, soldering.. Which would be a pain to do. Those keyboard covers are great but really reduce the brightness.

Yes those rectangle leds work perfectly. They are actually nice and are even less likely to interfere with keycaps than the common to find round leds that have a flange on the bottom which usually don't sit right inside the led recess in the switch top.
