Title: Cherry Corp keycaps printing methods comparison
Post by: Photekq on Sun, 06 April 2014, 17:44:28
Warning : This image is huge (30mb) and very, very high res. It's just a simple comparison between dye sublimation, doubleshot and lasered keycaps found on Cherry Corp boards. Worth noting that there are more types of Cherry keycaps out there as seen in Sixty's post (http://deskthority.net/photos-videos-f8/cherry-corp-mx-keycap-history-t78.html). This is mainly to show the differences in the printing methods.

It actually does look like there's some imperfections on the doubleshot Esc; it's minor but there's a bit of an overly thick area on the bottom of the E. Still is darker and sharper, though.

Yeah, they do look a little blurry under macro :)) However, the blur is NOTHING compared to imsto.. Below photos from yab8433408 :

Unfortunately I've only got an SP cap that was dyesubbed by imsto and a few SP doubleshot novelties

Few more pics of different moulds. Also, a pad printed menu key. You can see that Cherry pad printing is very high quality and you can just about make out the square clear coat.

Well you'll have to.

The ones on my realforce are pretty nice, but when I go back to GMK I just can't stop typing meaninglessly. I don't like how fuzzy the legends can be sometimes, either (again, not really a problem the realforce has).

Cherry dyesubs feels way different from Realforce dyesubs. :P
