Posted this on REDDIT battlestation but I didn't post it here. Felt redundant. But then I felt guilty for not posting here because GH is where I grew up to be the keyboard nerd that I am.
So I finally set up my writing station facing my backyard when I want to getaway from the madness and just write. I made a few changes to my typewriter keyboard since. I'm still investigating an elegant way to refinish those cherry blue switches.
Below is the video link to the making of incase you've not seen it.

DAYUM it looks sick as hell

Very cool aesthetic. I do recommend that if your fingers start tingling or hurting that you decrease the slant on the keyboard, as an angle that steep is rather unhealthy.

haha yes. Ergo angle on this board is much to be desired. I do have plans for adding some type of wrist support. Or the alternate solution is to really really choose your words wisely, then type just those few words.

So awesome, well done mate. How much time went into making?

Wise, you shall become.

Hmm about 4 months? And still noodling on for the past year. A lot of that went into getting parts, redo ing the frames, etc. I took a lot of pics and just kinda stared at it. Then a week later I'd tweak a bit more.
I think that design "soak" time is the most valuable asset l had since I had to keep it cheap.
Big companies have big budgets but they have to crank out something under a deadline. I think sometimes that can cause really huge design disconnect. "What were they thinking when they made that decision?" Sort of thing. That's probably why there are so many ugly cars? :)

How did you make the keycap stems, and what are they made of?
