I found this site through the various subs that I visit Reddit daily.
I absolutely suck at doing these intro things, so I'll just list some points about my self;
- My name is Brad and I am deaf
- I am a long time laptop user that has recently ventured back to desktops
- This is my desktop - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tigersharkdude/saved/4csc - http://imgur.com/a/WZ26v
- NOTE: the build is not finished, I am still waiting to purchase a few things - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tigersharkdude/saved/3Zrx'
- I recently purchased my first "modern" mechanical keyboard, its a Quickfire Rapid w/ MX Blues and a two toned keycap set - http://imgur.com/a/FJJfy
- I am a huge fan of DIY stuff, I recently made a custom, wooden wrist rest - http://imgur.com/a/lrxia
If you would like to know anything else, feel free to ask. I tried to hyperlink on those URL's using the BB markup that I know and it didn't work; the method of linking a WORD to an address didnt work here :( anybody know how to do that here?

Nearly 24hours and still waiting for post approval? I've seen numerous other noobs post threads, I'm not sure what the issue is.
-
Too many external links? Should be good now, sorry about that.
Welcome to geekhack! very clean desk setup you've got.
-
Yeah sorry about the delay. Threads in this subforum do not normally require approval. The spam filter flags stuff with "suspicious" links though, sometimes seemingly at random.
-
Hey, I remember your post on reddit! :D Welcome to geekhack!
(sorry about the spam filter)

This is quite interesting. I remember reading on here somewhere that someone was wondering how deaf people view mechanical switches, due to the fact that they can only feel and not hear the clicks etc.
If you bought multiple boards with different switches, or even somehow managed to try out different switches and tell us how they feel to you, I'm sure people (or maybe just me) would be interested.

Welcome! I like your case! :thumb:

Your desk looks very nice. Thank you for sharing, there is a thread specifically to show the pictures of your workplace. I suggest you to repost it there.
Welcome to GH.

Welcome to GeekHack!
I had the good fortune to befriend a deaf person a couple of years ago who taught me and our social circle cued speech, which was a huge amount of fun. I've become a big fan of cued speech primarily because it's relatively easy for hearing folk to pick it up compared to ASL.
Also your wrist rest is badass.
