Title: 102-key compatible USB adapters in Europe
Post by: huha on Sat, 11 April 2009, 12:52:23
On my eternal quest for decent PS/2 to USB adapters, I already bought three. Two of them won't accept the 102nd key, making them quite useless, the third one does, but re-initializes the PS/2 part from time to time, making the keyboard unusuable for about 10 seconds. So without further ado, which ones can you recommend? They should be reasonably inexpensive because I need at least three of them, support 102 keys and not mess around with the PS/2 too much.
I know there are a few Europeans (even Germans) here, so which ones do you use and where can I get them?

This (http://www.cyberguys.com/product-details/?productID=4850&rtn=10134&core_cross=SEARCH_DETAIL_COMPARISON) is the recommended one, especially for Model Ms.  I don't have it (or any other PS/2->USB adapter) and I don't know where to get it cheap in DE :(

As I might have forgotten to point out, I live in Europe. Do they ship internationally and what are the costs associated therewith? I couldn't find any information about this on Cyberguys' web site.

Don't know, but if you decide to order from them let me know.  I would like to have one or two, too, so maybe we can save on the shipping costs...

I've had no problems using either my Unicomp or my old Model F with those run-of-the-mill Belkin adaptors that you can get from most e-tailers.

Does Belkin stuff exist in Europe?

I have an F5U119vE1, works just fine with the Model M, and supports 102 key keyboards just fine (tested by removing the left shift key and directly pressing on the open place in the membrane where the 102nd key would be on an ISO layout Model M.)
