Title: Defective Switch?
Post by: Xiamath on Thu, 17 April 2014, 03:02:14
I've a Filco MJ2 TKL with MX Reds and when i bottom out the F2 or F3 keys it feels mushy, like if there was something between the bottom of the slider and the casing.
Does anybody know what is causing this?

Have you tried to take of the keycaps and have a look?

Yes and everything seems fine, but i tried to switch keycaps (F4 with F3) and now the F3 key feels fine and the F4 mushy,
therefore i think that the problem is in the F3 keycap but it looks ok.
Any idea?

Some form of fritiction might have occured. The easiest thing would to replace the f-row keycaps.

Are you sure you are getting the caps seated all the way down?

Yes.

Anyway does the warranty apply for these kind of problems?
