Title: *HELP* Ducky 1008 disassembly and soldering
Post by: exousia7 on Thu, 17 April 2014, 06:12:33
A friend of mine with a Ducky 1008 with Cherry MX brown switches recently asked me on how to fix his keyboard with connectivity issues. He says that for some reason the connection between the USB port and the cable is very sensitive to movement, when he moves the cord it will sometimes disconnect. He tried using another USB cable but the issue persisted. My assumption is that the USB port on the keyboard is messed up, and I was wondering if there are any tutorial videos on disassembling a 1008 series Ducky keyboard, as well as resoldering the USB port if possible.
Also, are there any mechanical keyboard repair shops in Toronto? My friend probably does not want to risk disassembling and resoldering himself and might prefer giving it to someone to fix it instead.

Thanks!

Same problem here: http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/14-months-broken-ducky-t3548.html

See the last post with some notes on how it was fixed.
