Title: Iso to ansi left shift

I was wondering how difficult it would be to find a keycap of a left shift ansi Mx cherry that would fit over the 2 switches of a ISO board (the left shift and adjacent key). Do they make these or would it require modding?

I don't believe anyone produces those kind of shifts, even you were able to find one you will have problems with the stabilizers. I am not sure about your goal, are you trying to turn ISO into ansi layout?

Yes but just the shift key really as I play alot of FPS games now and would prefer a larger shift key.

Unfortunately these aren't available...

To get an ANSI left shift you would need a custom PCB, or you would need to modify your current PCB by drilling new holes.

You could do a stem transplant, make the stems only have two and use the shift and other key as the stab, and disable the extra key either through scripts

PCB is usually not a problem, since most PCBs share layouts now. What keyboard is this. The main problem is if it has a plate. You need a custom plate to have ANSI left shift + ISO Enter.

I've seen a board that was designed that way, but it was a heap old board with Monterrey switches, and thus, an ALPS-style mount.

This is what the ANSI left shift looked like

Notice how the stem is off-centre to hit the left switch .
