I hope it goes to a geekhacker

Thanks for the notice I've been wanting to try one of those. Oh it has been sold BTW :)
I also noticed that same seller has some of those gray Model M's as well. I been looking for one of those as well. I just may have to grab one of them as well.
EDIT: Man I have to slow down on buying keyboards I'm going broke :(

I thought that would go pretty fast, the seller really didn't need a 30 day auction. There is some interesting stuff in his store "IBMstuff4less". Check out these cheap '97 Buckling spring Ms: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=130299319056
And those gray models seem like they should go for more too. I've been getting too many boards lately too, time to take it easy for a while :)

The main picture has a different lock light cluster label than I have seen before. In the other pics, however, it shows the regular label. I call shenanigans.
-
You're right, that isn't the correct model number, maybe it's not such a deal.
-
Man I was starting to get worried as I'm the one that got the M13 but yall are talking about that model M and I now see what you are talking about. Hmm.. Maybe they just got the pics mixed up.

Other than the beige cord, that one has the correct model # and lock light cover that all 4 of the M13's I've possessed have had. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place, but this one looked legit. $40 is a very good price for these. I sold 2 of mine for $200 each about 18 months ago.

Mike & rdjack21 - We were discussing the other link that I posted: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=130299319056 It should have a lock light like the one below.
No worries about the M13, it definitely looks legit. You really got a steal rd, congrats!

This is a 2003 unicomp though, the auction is for '97 made in UK boards.

Y'know, I've wondered something: Most keyboard makers, if they don't say "Num Lock", will show a "1" for the Num Lock icon. Unicomp (and apparently when they built for IBM directly) used an "8" instead. Any particular significance to it?
Is it one of those "the number 8 is lucky in some cultures" thing? Or just easier to identify?

It's a nod to the Magic 8 Ball. Good observation, I never noticed that before. The Cherry I am typing on uses a "1."

That "lock light" seems to be common on late Greenock production, a few years back there was a large quantity of '406s on eBay with those. I don't explicitly remember 42Hs with those, but if they were UK built I could well believe they could have those labels.
Edit: Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks this.

The M13 showed up at the door today. It has been taken apart and cleaned very well but who ever reassembled it did not put it back quite right. So I will have to take it apart again and fix it.Also it is a Maxi Switch board.
