Hello, I was just wondering about what GeekHack's preference was about keyboards. Do you guys enjoy clicky or tactile keys?

Well, that depends:
Most people around here seem to think that browns are kinda lame, but that clears are awesome (I agree with this)
Blues are also up there as a good switch, if underused. I really like blues.

Although like TS said, in the tactile department, people ultimately prefer clears over browns because of clears bigger bump

My opinion :
Modern browns suck
Vintage browns are great
Clears suck
Ergo clears are great
Blues are great
Vintage blues are better
Lubed, vintage blues with 60g springs are even better

God tier=clears/modified blacks
mid tier=greens/blacks/reds
**** tier=browns/whites
Of course, this is just my opinion.

This topic may as well be "what is your favorite color". It's 101% subjective.
Personally, I hate clicky (green/blue) switches, they're too distracting. Smooth linears, like vintage blacks, are amazing. Stock clears are max level. I'm not a big fan of browns because they (you guessed it) feel like dirty reds.

After all my personal testing, I prefer Clicky MX Switches. Greens, Whites, and Blues are my favorite MX switches. My beloved KMAC has Greens and my work daily driver has Blues.
I've written a few thoughts on all the MX switches I've tried if you care to read them:

Well, I dunno about this thread.
First of all, the OP forgot to mention linear MX.
My list of Cherry MX preference is a follows:
1. Vintage Blacks
2. Reds
3. Browns
4. Ergo Clears
5. Blues
However, this is my current, and more mature list. It has taken me years to decide this. Your preferences will change over time. Reds and Browns go through periods of fashionability and then go out of favor it seems. Ergo Clears seem to be a perennial favorite however. And if you like Clicky, then you're going to love blues. That's just how it goes. I've grown less fond of clicky sound. But, I still like the blues. All 5 of my choices are MX switches that I like, it's just that I like some a little bit better than others. If it's not on my list, then I don't really like it.

Sorry for not replying to all of you at a time >:D There is so much responses. Much like real community. I am currently thinking about buying a Code Keyboard TKL that is currently on MassDrop right now. I am thinking about whether I should get the greens or wait for the clears. I am a but confused about which switch I am currently liking. But, I have a Ducky Shine 3 With Mx Blues right now and the keys just feel light and easy to use. I think I prefer heavier switches but the clears are not that much more heavier so... greens? Also do greens have a tactile bump?

I have MX Browns, I like them very much. But I appear to be amongst the few. I also like Blues, but those make too much noise for the people around me. What's so good about MX Clears compared to Browns?

People generally say that the tactile bump on Clears is much more pronounced than on Browns.

I don't like the Cherry "click" sound. It's quite high pitched and feels cheap to me. I do like tactile switches, though. I find Browns to be nice balance for both typing and gaming. The ones I got needed a bit of time to wear in, though, and lose their "scratchiness".
My favourite switch is 62g ErgoClears that have been worn in and then lubed... beautiful. Especially once they've been latex and trampoline modded. :D The bump IS more pronounced than Browns and it starts earlier in the stroke. The lighter springs help emphasise it even more. Very tactile switch, but not too heavy.

Browns kinda suck. But doesn't mean I don't like em. Reds are smooth as can be.
The boards with blues that I've used are hit and miss. On the Das I used they felt more springy and on the BWU they felt loose and kinda spongey.

I don't hate browns, but if a key is going to click I prefer it to click properly :p
Yes, I know browns don't click per se, but they feel as if they are going to, but don't.

I've only tried ErgoClears and Blues. I love the tactility of Blues but ErgoClears are close without so much noise.

"Vintage" switches are believed by some to have a minutely different chemical composition that is responsible for their atypical smoothness. As far as I know this has never been confirmed though, only rumored.

I'm going to pipe up and say how much I enjoy 55g blacks, and greens. I'm not a very big fan of blues, whites, browns, and reds. I'm probably missing a couple. Blues on my yellow ducky just don't it for me any more, but that may just be because it's in an aluminum case :p
I'm also a big fan of my Topres, both the 45g and 55g are the way to go.

TLDR; It's all personal, try them all...
I have never tried vintage Browns, but from my own experience, a worn-in Brown switch is nice and smooth and feels a LOT better than a new one. The "scratchines" does go away. It's also less noticeable with heavy keycaps. Lighter keycaps make it more apparent.
My favourite is still worn-in Clears with 62g springs, but worn-in Browns are nice, too. What I prefer about the Clears is their larger tactile bump AND the fact that it starts almost immediately, whereas the Browns have a little "linear" part before you start to feel the bump. Doesn't matter when you're typing fast or pressing hard, but it's noticeable to me.
I like to mod switches to get them to feel more like my own preferences and the next mod on my list is adding a thicker layer of rubber to the top casings of a Brown switch (like an extreme version of the latex mod) to bring the start point closer to the bump and provide more damping of the release sound, when the slider hits the top case.
Actually, I wish Cherry would make a switch with Clear sliders that have rubber dampers on the top and bottom of each side, lighter springs (somewhere between stock Clear and Brown, with the steeper force increase of the Clear spring). That would be my end-game switch I reckon. I get close enough by modding them myself, but it's a lot of work.
I've never tried Blues, Greens or Whites with really heavy keycaps on. I've heard they change the click so it's not so high pitched.
I'm also starting to have the strange and unwanted feeling that I might like DIY silenced 55g Topre switches after all.... My poor wallet...

I can't help but feel that many times people prefer switch types which are harder/more expensive to obtain, as opposed to just off-the-shelf. I can however understand why there's a satisfaction factor in using switches that you've somehow modified yourself...

No but really, it's all subjectives. Stats are facts, the whole rest is personnal preferences.
In here we only talk about that kind of stuff but no words is written in gold here, you're not wrong using browns or white or blacks.
You're simply a different color, but in the end, you're still part of a wonderful community.

Ergo Clears with anything heavier than 62g korean will give you a switch that is more tactile than blues, quieter, and without the inherent design flaw that exists in click switches. PM for discussion :) I don't wanna derail here.
Lube the sliders and not the legs imo.
Edit: and obviously lubed springs (off topic) the most important part to lube.
