Title: Combined shipping?
Post by: nubbinator on Wed, 23 April 2014, 20:39:51
Is there any way to make it so you combine shipping and get a lower price on some of the items.  I really need some Costar stabilizers, but $5.50 a pair is a bit excessive, especially if you need a bunch of them and/or are buying other stuff with them.

Shipping is built into the price. I think I remember hearing that you can combine it, just have to contact them first.

I thought shipping was free?

It is and it isn't.  It is now because it was built into the price of what's being sold.  So some prices went up when free shipping was instituted.  I'm just commenting on it being a little absurd to pay $5.50 per pair of Costar stabs or per single 2x Costar stabilizer wire if you need a bunch of them.  I get that it takes time to pull stuff and that needs to be compensated, but if you need, say five pairs of Costar stabilizers, four 2x wires, and one space bar wire like you do for a 60% or Tenkeyless keyboard, that's $55.25 total for something that costs, what $0.50-75 each (far less to the reseller) and $3 to ship.  Enough for a full sized keyboard would be $88.75, practically the cost of a keyboard.  So I'm wondering if it's possible to get some sort of combined shipping discount on smaller, cheaper items to make the pricing more reasonable.

Just for reference, a Black Alps XM switch (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=270) or Green Alps XM switch (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=269) are $1.25 shipped and you can get a 5 pack of Matias switches (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=480) for the same price as a space bar stabilizer wire.

Maybe the solution is as simple as offering a Costar pack that has all you need for a 60%/TKL or full sized keyboard.

I'll try that then.

Very good suggestion.  Paying $5.50 is just ridiculous.

It would be cheaper to buy a CM Quickfire XT from Amazon and harvest the stabilizers than it would be to buy an equivalent set of stabilizers at these prices.

That is the place I usually would get them, but they are sold out of the clips.

Good to hear.  In the mean time, what's the best way of handling it? PMing you? E-mailing you? Waiting?

Waiting is never the best thing. If our customers want something the best way is to email us at support@mechanicalkeyboards.com, or yes you may PM any of our staff, me or JoshMK is best. Until we have something in place, we can work something out once the order is submitted. We are definitely here for you all, and we need to hear it if you have questions. Waiting and asking nothing is of no use to anyone.

Business is busyness but we are never too busy to address inquiries or issues...
