Does anyone have any experiences they want to share about the BTC-5100 keyboard? I think it is membrane or some kind of rubber dome. But it sure is portable.

It's not a bad layout (http://www.ibt.ca/v2/items/btc5100/images/btc5100b.jpg), but it's rubber dome, which auto-kills it for me. :)
It looks like BTC may make scissor switch keyboards, but I don't see any other mechanical types they make.

I have several of them and the arrow keys are laid out in a weird manner, but they aren't bad for rubber dome boards. The portability is the best aspect of this board.

Switch activation mechanism Conductive rubber .
I think it is membrane.
Old Btc 5100C used Capacitive contacts/Coil spring similar to btc 5339

I have one, but it didn't even make it to my sig.
Me too. It is a decent feeling rubber dome, but mine is too unreliable to use. I'll be typing along and all of a sudden half the keys on the keyboard don't work. I have taken it apart and reseated everything and the problem comes back in a few hours. I can't recommend it for this reason.

The arrow keys are like what I have on the MK96, and I agree that they are weird. I remapped mine so that the down arrow is in between the left and right arrows, like a traditional keyboard, but the up arrow is still weird because it is then above the right arrow. It still throws me off after about 10 days of using the keyboard.

I have a BTC 9116URF that I use with my HTPC. It's a pretty crappy keyboard all around with the exception of the integrated analog stick, which is actually pretty high quality. Even when the RF transmitter is working properly the keys feel uneven, often sticky on the way back up, and some have to be jammed down fiercely to register.
But it's better than my old Acer Airkey.

In my opinion, the layout on the BTC-5100 would have been better had they not used the miniature size keys in the F-keys row. That and the unusual arrow keys arrangement are the only gripes that I have about the overall layout.
