This is my first set of PBT keycaps and I'm not really sure how to judge the thickness. They are KBC brand.

Is there such a thing as "medium" thickness? I ask because I feel like I've seen pictures of keycaps that are thicker than these, and pictures of ones thinner than these.

Yeah, yours are thin PBT.

Thanks. They seemed to be advertised as thick... http://www.ebay.com/itm/37PBT-Plus-thick-Single-color-Key-caps-for-MX-Cherry-Switches-Side-printed-/300997693802

How do you know when a vendor is selling actual thick keycaps?
Buy from reputable people, or buy popular keycaps you know are thick.
"37PBT Plus thick Single color Key caps for MX Cherry Switches Side printed.
Six(6) Color option you can choose, High quality Caps"
Did you get six caps, where they thick? I think that's the ones he meant. The 37 PBT keycaps weren't thick, but the 6 other keycaps were?

I believe he means six color options (blue, green, orange, yellow, etc.). I got all 37, and they all seem to be thin.

That's saying they come in 6 colors.
OP, every PBT set on MechanicalKeyboards.com from vortex or Ducky is thick, except the blank black ones and the side printed black ones, they confirmed it over in their vendor forum

Whoa thats my picture above haha... Random.
Just be sure they have a picture of the bottom before you buy. I wouldnt've expected qtan to screw you over like that honestly.

So for example, these are definitely thick? http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=865
(Kind of funny that the Ebay listing specified as thick isn't thick, and the Vortex listings that don't specify thickness at all are thick.)

I even made a post on reddit /r/mechanicalkeyboards before buying asking if qtan's thickness can be vouched for, and 2 people said the keycaps are indeed thick: http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/23kgjt/can_anyone_vouch_for_qtans_keycaps/

Ah, "Plus thick Single color Key caps", confusing as hell. :p
BSP keycaps are thick, GMK keycaps are thick, Cherry keycaps are thick, some Ducky keycaps are thick, Vortex keycaps are thick, IMSTO keycaps are thick - can't think of more right now.

Also you cant just go by brand. I have thin vortex pbt for instance

Yeah that's weird, I've heard good things about qtan as well, and those do seem to be "medium" thickness because I've seen some a bit thinner, but the recent Vortex sets (On MechanicalKeyboards) most definitely are nice and thick. Idk. They look thicker than WASD keycaps, but still they aren't thick.
Oh yeah? Which ones? I've only seen the doubleshot PBT keycaps from Vortex, 1st and 2ng gen and they are both thick.

Yep, everyone I asked vouched for these.
Where/how did you order that Vortex set?
Nevermind, found it here: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=773
I'm also really interested in Ivan's keycap group buy, but since I missed the orders I'm going to either have to wait for someone to sell theirs or pick up a Vortex one probably.

That's weird qtan is a legit vendor. But I don't see anyway you could consider those thick. Maybe they are a bit thicker than the ones he used to sell?
Looking at the picture again nah those are totally thin.

I think they're maybe thicker than Ducky's thin (or identical, difficult to tell), but thinner than Vortex's thick. I agree it definitely is not thick though.
I'm not sure if I misunderstood what "PBT Plus Thick" means, or if he's marked them up with an incorrect description.
Another shot, next to a quarter:

It's better than my ABS, so I guess I'll use these and wait a bit to see if I can get one of Ivan's blank sets (I prefer blank black over side-blue anyway).

That's true, but these Vortex PBT double shot 2nd gen, caps are thick PBT. I have 2 sets of the blacks, but they have the same caps available in bi color blue/white and 2 or 3 other colors.

The left key cap below is the Vortex thick PBT double shot, the right key cap is a Ducky standard ABS cap.
This PBT doubleshot is approximately twice as thick as the ABS.
