I dont see delete my post in the corner of my posts anymore.

I know. They took it away  :(

I was deleting all of my old bumps after I would post a new one (and I was following the once every 24hr rule)

I see it there from time to time - I think it is only enabled on a couple of areas in GH, but I haven't paid enough attention to list which ones.

this feature tends to become an issue at very inopportune times, and has been unavailable for most of the forum for at least a year. it was accidentally left on in a couple forums, so it may look like a new change, but was actually just a recent fix.

Removing the post delete feature was an idiotic thing to do.

Can always just PM a mod and ask them to clean up the posts in your classifieds thread if that's what you want.

They will delete your old bumps for you if you have a tone of them starting to build up?

The classifieds threads are your threads. If you want the mods to delete something, report it and ask them or PM them to modify your thread as you like. So if you want your old bumps removed, yes, you can get them removed.

The classifieds threads are your threads.

So we can't even clean our own threads without mod assistance anymore? I fully understand the cause for concern in other parts of the forum, but in classifieds, the ability/responsibility to clean a thread should remain with it's creator. Period. Otherwise, all you're doing is giving the mods more power and/or more work to do, of which they need neither.

Totally agree with this, things are getting silly.

I think it's mainly because you can just delete your last bump and bump again anytime bypassing the 24hr bump rule.

So it's easier for the mods to remove a useful feature for everybody than it is to address isolated incidents such as your given example? Sorry, but not buying the logic on that one... if that was as major of an issue as you're implying it is, we would have heard about it by now.

Possible solution: Not sure if it's conceivable, but make there be a 24 hour restriction on the ability for the user to delete their own post. Will resolve both the issues regarding cleaning ads, as well as issues involving conflicts in any part of the forum; then the mods can allow for users to delete their own posts ANYWHERE on the forum, not just in the classifieds.

Oh, and some mod/admin feedback would be appreciated, as I mainly want to know if implementing a solution similar to my suggestion is even possible.

It's pretty simple actually: it was being abused. A couple cases sort of ruined it for everyone. You still have edit control over your post so I'm not even sure how it's even that much of an issue anyway.

We'd like to have a bump button in the classifieds but I'm not sure how feasible that is to implement yet or when the admins responsible will have to time to test and make the change. We have lots of code changes in the works but no opportune time to implement. Maybe when the code base is open-sourced it'll be easier to accomplish.

For now if you need to remove, let's say, a double post then just hit the report button.

I would just like to get some of my old bumps cleaned up.  So if that's okay I will PM a mod shortly?

Yup, feel free. Reports work too and have a better chance of getting acted on more quickly, especially for little things like that.
