Title: Best company for reliability? Need recommendation please
Post by: bexleycorona on Mon, 12 May 2014, 01:35:09
Recently I have had issues with a board so I want my next one to be very reliable.

NE has the CM Storm QuickFire Rapid w/ Browns  for $55 after rebate. The problem is there are a few review talking about how they just stop working.

Are they less reliable than other boards?

I'm looking for a 75% board ~$100 or less.

So far what I have been recommended:

- Noppoo Choc Mini
- KeyCool 84
- Ducky Shine III

Anything else? I have heard Filco is good too.

QFR is good - I have two that have been working for more than a year and about six months respectively, with no issues at all.

Also Ducky is good - I have a Ducky Shine (version 1) that has had much daily use for more than a year with no problems.

basically:  don't buy logitech, corsair, razer, steelseries, or any of the other major gaming brands.

The DAS Dolce offering looks beautiful. Will they work with the QFR and most of these boards?

u mean DSA Dolch from Signature Plastic?
That set works with most of the keyboard.

QFR is good becuz its a production line manufactured in costar taiwan, same manufacturer of filco and das keyboard
that means much better QC !

I wanted to have it for quite a long time but i can never get it....its bascially out of stock in Hong Kong and China for half a year already
it is a pretty solid board!

Thank you for all your advice guys.

For $55 AR I ended up taking the risk for a CM QFR w/ browns. I just got it today.

I tend to learn most from my mistakes and I slightly regret getting the browns.

I didn't understand how big of a difference clicky vs. tactile would make. I really liked my whites and apparently they are just a quieter version of greens?

My Leopold FC200R and my Realforce 87U have been my most reliable keyboards.  Least reliable has been my LZ-GH

Really not one company is "most reliable," and qfr's are generally the most recommended starter keyboard. You should have no problem with it
