Title: Do the volume/eject keys work with the HHKBPro2 on a Mac?
Post by: fuzzybaffy on Sun, 26 April 2009, 18:14:14
I'm in the market for a high-end keyboard, and I was wondering if the volume/eject keys on the HHKBPro2 work on a Mac?

The volume controls work, but for eject you need to hold F12 because the Fn + F combo doesn't work.

Another cool Mac shortcut on the HHKB Pro is Fn + Esc brings up the shut down / sleep menu.

I tried that one earlier today hoping that it would work on Linux, but no go...

xsphat, thanks for letting me know... I think I'm that much closer to getting a HHKB. D=

ozar, I noticed you have both the HHKB Pro 2 and the Topre Realforce. I saw your post on another thread comparing the two, but I don't remember you posting your final conclusions/opinions based on the two. Were you able to come up with a final opinion?

No, nothing definite yet.  I used the Realforce 87U for a few days then switched back to the HHKB Pro2 and am using it now.  I still need to put the Realforce 87U back on the desktop for further testing and comparison, but I will say that I'm leaning toward the HHKB Pro 2 as my own personal favorite.
