Title: help with mionix keyboard
Post by: keyfetish on Wed, 21 May 2014, 01:20:39
hi all. i purchased a mionix keyboard on ebay and i've been typing it for a few days at work. overall, it's a comfortable keyboard to type on. however, i've noticed that the letter O has been acting up, meaning sometimes it would not register at all. what is the main reason that this is happening? and is there a way to remedy the problem?

open it up, and take a picture of the PCB

If it is only one switch, it could be a faulty switch, or bad connections on the PCB.

Given that you bought it from from eBay, it is unlikely to have a warranty?  Unless the seller provides one?

In that case you should be able to remove (desolder) the switch and install a new switch.

i think the seller has tinkered with the keyboard before. i could see scuff mark where the top and bottom keyboard meets like he was trying to pry it open. i will open up the keyboard and take a picture tomorrow. i hope it's an easy fix.
