Title: Filco Majestouch Alt Keycap Keeps Coming Off
Post by: Woof Woof on Fri, 23 May 2014, 05:54:04
I wasn't sure if this belonged in the keycaps or keyboards forum, so I flipped a coin (not really) and chose this one.

I've had my Majestouch 2 Ninja for a few months now and I've notice that the left alt keycap keeps coming off. It's done this about three times now, and several other times I've pressed it, only to find I was clicking it back into place.

Is this normal or do I have a defective product?

It does happen.

You can try a small square of, say, plastic sandwich bag, or even sticky tape, over the stem under the keycap before you put the stabiliser insert in.

Some people use teflon (plumber's) tape, but I found that too thin.

Probably just a small variation in stem thickness on that one key.

Swap left and right Alt keycaps and see what happens :p
